Director Hired for ‘Day of the Dead’ Remake

George Romero’s 1985 film Day Of The Day is one of the great underrated horror classics of all time, and for many years there has been talk of a modern remake being in the works throughout the often troublesome land of Hollywood. Nick Cannon starred in one remake not long ago, but given the limited release the film saw we’re choosing to act like it never existed. Now, according to Deadline, some actual progress on the long-gestating project has been made.

Millennium Films has set Mark Tonderai to direct a ‘modern-day retelling’ of Day Of The Dead. This …

First Scene Filmed For ‘Batman Vs. Superman’

Although principle photography isn’t set to start until February, filming has begun for the new DC crossover film, Batman Vs. Superman. The scene that was filmed consists of a Gotham vs. Metropolis football game. Shooting for two plays, all around Gotham’s 30 yard line, the scene focused on the DC rivalry. Extra’s are decked out in Gotham black and yellow, or Metropolis’ red and white. There is little to no information on what will happen during the football game, although one of the scenes culminated in a Gotham bench-clearing fight against Metropolis.

Zack Synder was on set, calling out …

‘Batman Vs. Superman’ Begins Filming This Weekend In Los Angeles

Not long ago a person connected to the upcoming Warner Bros film Batman Vs. Superman told reporters that most people did not realize how far into pre-production the film actually was. We figured this meant a script was complete, or that some location scouting had commenced, but this morning we learned the truth is that production is set to begin much sooner than anyone could have anticipated. This weekend, in fact.

The East Los Angeles College Campus News is reporting production of the 2015 superhero film starring Henry Cavill as Clark Kent and Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne will take …

Tupac Shakur Biopic To Begin Production In 2014

Here’s something you don’t see everyday: Studio announces production plans for long-awaited biopic and leaves off all information regarding a star or director.

It’ll still be here. I promise.

Kanye West, Liam Neeson, Tina Fey & More Added To ‘Anchorman: The Legend Continues’

The return of Ron Burgundy and his news team is arguably the most anticipated comedy event of 2013. Production for the December release is currently underway, and recently a number of celebrities have been seen on set that were previously unannounced for the film.

Kanye West was spotted shooting scenes in Atlanta earlier this week alongside Anchorman: The Legend Continues stars Paul Rudd and Christina Applegate. The three were reportedly filming on a rooftop somewhere in the city, but no further details about his appearance or how it will play into the plot have been revealed.

West is not the …

DAMMIT(?): Jeff Daniels Confirms “Dumb And Dumber To” Is DEAD

A few months back the internet exploded for an hour or so over news that Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels had officially signed on to make a sequel to Dumb And Dumber. The film was set to shoot in August, but TMZ is now reporting that Jeff Daniels has proclaimed the film “dead” following the exit of Carrey (who thought the studio was not as excited about the project as he would have liked). Is this good news? Is it depressing? I guess at this point we will never really know what might have been, but I get the …

Francis Lawrence Signs On To Direct “Catching Fire”

The man who brought us I Am Legend and Water For Elephants, Director Francis Lawrence, has officially signed on to direct Catching Fire, the second film in The Hunger Games series.

Rolling Stone has the story, which claims Deadline noted Lionsgate had also considered Moneyball director Bennett Miller and Spanish filmmaker Juan Antonio Bayona, but only Lawrence could work within a timetable that would allow the movie to hit theaters by the fall of next year.

Forgetting Water For Elephants momentarily (though it did look great), I think Lawrence could definitely capture the world of Catching Fire better …
