MUSIC VIDEO: Gallows – “Chains”

Gallows recently released their 7″ single titled Chains. The single features the title track as well as the b-side “Wristslitter.” The band premiered a music video for “Chains” earlier today, and you can watch it below the break.

The video is shot in black and white, and features some scenes that look like they were pulled right out of a horror flick. The visuals work great with the music, and if you’re a fan of the band it’s worth checking out.

If you have not picked up the 2-track single yet you can do so by heading …

STREAM: Gallows – “Wristslitter”

It appears we won’t have to wait any longer to hear the second track from Gallows‘ 7″ that features two brand new original tracks. We heard “Chains” a few weeks back, and now the band has posted “Wristslitter.”

This track picks up the pace comparatively. It’s very in-your-face and threatening. With this song, the band showcases aspects of southern metal, almost reminding one of He is Legend or Maylene and the Sons of Disaster. Listen below and tell us what you think.

If you like what you hear, be sure to grab the 7″, which is available for pre-order

Guitarist Steph Carter Leaves Gallows, Band To Continue As A Four Piece

The lineup of UK-based punk act Gallows continues to fluctuate. According to a statement released by the group, guitarist and vocalist Steph Carter has left the band to pursue outside projects.

Steph has left Gallows and we wish him the best of luck with his future projects. We will be moving on as a four piece like the early days. First stop Australia.

Carter had been with the band since 2006, having appeared on each release from the group since their debut album Orchestra of Wolves. Steph isn’t the first member of the Carter family to part ways with …

WATCH: Pure Love’s Teaser For New Album ‘Anthems’

What if all your exes got together and formed a band?

I doubt they would sound half as good as Pure Love, the duo comprised of ex-Gallows frontman Frank Carter and ex-Hope Conspiracy guitarist Jim Carrol. Don’t believe me? Then check out the teaser video that the group just released to hype their upcoming debut Anthems and get back to me.

No, seriously, if the cinematic romp that intersperses shots of Carter and Carrol recording in-studio with some of the grittier, seedier, and grimier vistas that New York City has to offer, all soundtracked to Pure Love’s …

MUSIC VIDEO: Gallows – “Cross Of Lorraine”

Back in September, we reviewed Gallows‘ latest album with Wade MacNeil as vocalist. Wade’s other band, Alexisonfire, had their last studio release come out last week; now, his primary band has released an official music video for the song “Cross Of Lorraine” from their self titled album.

The video is black and white and primarily consists of an energetic live performance. Watch it for some slow motion crowd surfing and punk rock energy. If you’ve never heard the song, you should see the video, too; it’s one of my favorites off of Gallows. You can watch it …

REVIEW: Gallows – Gallows

Artist: Gallows
Album: Gallows
Genre: Punk
Label: Venn Records/Bridge Nine Records

At risk of being hopelessly obvious, the first thing that strikes the listener about this album is how markedly different Gallows sound without Frank Carter. Any band that undergoes a change of lead singer is bound to have an accompanying change in dynamic, but Frank was such a distinctive and brutal presence that it’s almost peculiar to hear a Gallows song without him. Wade MacNeil, late of Alexisonfire, is a more than fitting replacement in terms of power and adrenaline, but the band sounds so different that at first …

Two-Fifths of Alexisonfire In Studio Together

It looks like City and Colour CEO Dallas Green and Gallows frontman Wade MacNeil are working in the studio together. Green and MacNeil represent two-fifths of Canadian post-hardcore institution, Alexisonfire. Despite calling it a day last year, Alexisonfire have resurfaced to go on one proper farewell tour in celebration of a decade of making great music. Check out MacNeil’s tweets confirming his studio time with Green after the jump.

Little is known about what Green and MacNeil are up to. Could it have something to do with a final Alexisonfire release? A possible EP or Greatest Hits release? Or …

Alexisonfire to Tour One Last Time

Canadian post-hardcore outfit, Alexisonfire, broke up less than a year ago under a cloud of controversy. Guitarist/co-singer, Dallas Green, left the group to focus all his energy on his more successful side-project, City and Colour.  Never the less, Alexisonfire was going to continue on without Green, but then guitarist/co-singer, Wade MacNeil joined British hardcore punk outfit, Gallows, and Alexisonfire officially went to sleep.

Well, the group’s twitter recently came alive, hinting at “big news.” Some speculated that Alexisonfire was getting back together. Others splashed around in the “new record” pool. Yesterday, MacNeil put the rumors to rest …

MUSIC VIDEO: Gallows – Last June

Only two days ago UK hardcore outfit Gallows unveiled a stream/download of their new song “Last June” and we were simply astounded by the intensity. Now the group have released a music video to go along with the song today.

The group immediately set the tone for this video with police in riot gear trying to overthrow the civilians and the end results are something to behold. Please check it out after the jump and enjoy!

Gallows also announced huge news that they will be releasing their upcoming album on September 11 through Bridge 9 Records. Be prepared for this …
