Vacationer Release Music Video For “Go Anywhere”

As fall weather starts to take over, you might have forgotten that Vacationer put out a pretty great album earlier this year. Revisit the summer vibes of Relief with the new music video for “Go Anywhere.”

I don’t think Kenny Vasoli could look more mellowed out than he does here. If you’re having a stressful day, this might be just what you need to regroup and wind down. Take a break, make yourself a piña colada, and enjoy “Go Anywhere.”

WATCH: Vacationer – Trip (Live on Last Call with Carson Daly)

You may have seen Vacationer’s name pop up here or there on the blogosphere, and rightfully so. Vacationer (Kenny Vasoli of The Starting Line’s current project) was recently featured on Last Call with Carson Daly performing the songs “Good As New” and “Trip” from their 2012 release, Gone.

For the past couple years, Last Call with Carson Daly has been doing an excellent job of featuring a ton of stellar footage from up-and-coming artists. More recently, Local Natives, Walk The Moon, The Walkmen, and now Vacationer.

WATCH: Vacationer – “Be With You”

A few weeks ago, I was fortunate to see Vacationer perform in Akron, OH with My Mouth Is The Speaker. It was the closest thing to a last-minute show it could have been and it was fantastic.

Vacationer played through their entire collection of chilled-out tunes, promising new ones in the near future.

Leaving Ohio, they stopped by Audiotree to record an interview and a tune or two. You can hear the full session here and a watch a video of “Be With You” after the break.

Vacationer Add Headlining Dates To Tour With Niki And The Dove

Drive Thru Records heroes The Starting Line have finished touring until April, thus allowing front man Kenny Vasoli to focus on his other project, Vacationer. Vacationer will be opening for Niki And The Dove on tour throughout January, but they have now added some headlining shows to the fold.

The next TSL shows are April 26 and April 28 in Europe, so I would expect more shows for them in April, as not many bands go to Europe for just two dates. Perhaps this will allow Vacationer to have more shows in the months preceeding. For the full tour …

The Starting Line Add UK ‘Say It Like You Mean It’ Tour Date

Many bands have done tenth anniversary tours celebrating one of their albums – Taking Back Sunday with Tell All Your Friends, Finch with What It Is To Burn, and some others. The Starting Line has done this with Say It Like You Mean It, but now they’ve added one show in the UK to its tour.

On April 26, the band will be going to England. Their full statement was short and simple, saying “London you asked for it and we listened, we’re playing Say It Like You Mean It in its entirety. Only one show

Review: Person L/Weatherbox – Split EP

Artists: Person L and Weatherbox
Album: Split EP
Genre: Indie-rock/Experimental
Label: Youth Conspiracy Records

After four long years of patient waiting, Person L and Weatherbox have finally recorded that 7-inch they had promised. The Split EP consists of four all new tracks, two from each band, all of which are terribly enjoyable.  However, upon successive spins a more satisfying way to enjoy album has become apparent. Begin with either “OK” by Person L or “Kickflips For Weeks” by Weatherbox, and then alternate tracks between the two bands. A call and response, or a contest of sorts can be heard between …

Kill Paradise Premiere “Favorites Die”

Kill Paradise have partnered with Absolutepunk to release a new song off their forthcoming album, The Glitch.

Premiering at the top of the day on AP, “Favorites Die” is a song written by Kill Paradise about the downfall of one of their favorite bands, The Starting Line. Member Bryce Hoops explains:

We wrote “Favorites Die” because it seemed like a lot of our favorite bands were starting to fall victim to the music industry and break up. Specifically, our favorite band The Starting Line. Nick and I watched their DVD/documentary Somebody’s Gonna Miss Us and immediately started writing lyrics

Vacationer Releases EP, Gives Date for Full Length

One of 2011’s biggest secrets is a new side project by Person L and the Starting Line vocalist Kenny Vasoli called Vacationer. The project is a huge departure from his previous works and is a surprisingly good listen.

Today, Vacationer released their debut EP Gone (iTunes) today and I highly suggest you take a listen. A full length is planned to be made available on March 20th and will also be named Gone. Take a listen to the soundscape the project provides in a video for their single “Gone” inside.
