UTG PREMIERE: Undesirable People – “Cosmic Man”

Our love affair with Undesirable People is well recorded, but I don’t think we have ever believed in the band as much as we do at this very moment. Undesirable People have long proven themselves to be a strong force in the world of authentic alternative rock, and their latest offering is their best yet.

You may have seen a few new Undesirable People tracks floating around the web in recent weeks, and if so know there is good reason for that. The band is currently preparing to self-release their first full-length album, titled Eternal Vision of a Blind Future

Up, the follow-up to 2013’s highly-successful Onyx, will arrive in stores August 21. The lead single, “Footsteps,” will hit radio on June 1. We asked the label to let us hear the track early, but they were not as into the idea as we were.

Today may be the saddest day in UTG history. After eight years together, Fireworks have announced plans to go on hiatus following their upcoming tour.

Announced today via Twitter, Fireworks thanked fans for all their support before breaking news of their plans to take some time away from the spotlight. “After these upcoming gigs are ripped,” they wrote, “we will be taking a break for awhile to give the other side of life a try.” You can read the note in full at the end of this post.

Fireworks later comment that they do not know how long ‘awhile’ will …

Dirt Fest 2015 Expands To Two Days, Unveils Initial Lineup

Michigan’s loudest rock festival is expanding to be a two-day event this year, and the initial lineup gives us a lot to be excited about.

Dirt Fest 2015 will take place in Birch Run, Michigan on August 7 and 8 of this year. It will be the first time the long-running festival has been a multi-day event, and the initial lineup leads us to believe it will be a pretty chaotic weekend. Down and Coal Chamber are the main headliners, with big acts like Pop Evil, Eyes Set To Kill, Upon A Burning Body, and Periphery appearing …

Good Luck Varsity Release Second Track From Final Album

When Good Luck Varsity was white-hot, they entered the studio to record their first full-length record. Countless EPs and years of progress led to that point and fans’ mouths were watering at the thought. Unfortunately, the band announced their split and the record was shelved for quite a while.

Meanwhile, guitarist/vocalists Evan Baker and Ryan Scott Graham went onto other projects; Baker forming American Arson, and Graham joining the exploding State Champs to play bass. Over the year that passed, the guys of Good Luck Varsity began to put their differences aside and discuss the unreleased record.
