Slipknot Release New Song “Sarcastrophe”

Slipknot has released another new song from their upcoming album. Entitled “Sarcastrophe,” this one is the best example of classic Slipknot that we’ve heard from the record so far.

After a slow start, the song moves into a fantastic, heavy jam that sounds like a definite progression from 2008’s All Hope Is Gone. No frills here – if you like Slipknot, this is what you signed up for. Corey Taylor has sounded excellent on all of the new songs so far, but he really shines here as the fearless leader of the band.

Check out “Sarcastrophe” here, and …

Slipknot Release New Song “Custer”

Slipknot have released another single from their upcoming album .5: The Gray Chapter. Entitled “Custer,” the new track shows another new side to the sound of the upcoming album.

Musically, this new track sounds most similar to the overall vibe of Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses). The spoken intro immediately made me think of “Pulse of the Maggots” in particular. For comparison’s sake, I felt that “The Negative One” was as heavy as some of the band’s heaviest work on Iowa, and “The Devil In I” sounded more like a very heavy Stone …

iTunes Reveals Slipknot’s Album Title, Release Date, Cover Art, and Track List

The promotional run for Slipknot‘s latest studio album has been shrouded in mystery from day one, but it looks like iTunes may have just spoiled the fun of future reveals for everyone involved in the band’s current public relations campaign.

Late last night, iTunes updated its music story to include a pre-order of Slipknot’s latest studio album. The record, which was announced near the beginning of summer, had not been given an official release date, title, track list, or cover art before this time. We thought long and hard about whether or not to share what we learned, and …

REVIEW: The Amity Affliction – ‘Let The Ocean Take Me’

Artist: The Amity Affliction
Album: Let The Ocean Take Me
Genre: Metalcore
Label: Roadrunner Records

It may be hard to believe, but The Amity Affliction have been together since 2003. They didn’t release their first studio album until 2008 though, and they didn’t really pick up in popularity until their third album Chasing Ghosts came out in 2012. In that short amount of time though they have earned themselves a huge, passionate fan base. Even if you hadn’t heard of them before 2012, you probably did after Chasing Ghosts came out. If you still aren’t familiar with them, then that …

The Amity Affliction Stream “Don’t Lean On Me”

The Amity Affliction‘s highly anticipated forthcoming album, Let The Ocean Take Me, is set to hit stores across the world in less than a month. Earlier today the band premiered the second single from it. The new song is titled “Don’t Lean On Me,” and you can check it out by taking a look below the break.

Though the chorus for this song isn’t quite as catchy as the one in “Pittsburgh,” it’s still a solid single. The band is known for their clever writing, and it will be interesting to hear what the rest of the tracks …

Stream & Download The Debut Single By Harlot (Danny Worsnop)

It seems more and more musicians are starting or joining music projects that aren’t their original/main band. One of the more recent artists to start up a new group is Asking Alexandria‘s frontman Danny Worsnop. The band’s name is Harlot, and they have just released their very first single. The new song is titled “Denial,” and you can stream it right below the jump.

We all know that with each release Asking Alexandria have slowly become more of a rock ‘n’ roll band. I personally really dislike that fact, so it’s no surprise that Harlot have more of …

REVIEW: The Devil Wears Prada – ‘8:18’

ARTIST: The Devil Wears Prada
ALBUM: 8:18
GENRE: Metalcore
LABEL: Roadrunner Records

Once a band has released so many albums, or been around for so many years, I start to become wary of new music by them. There are so many examples of bands releasing one too many albums which basically ruins them for me. When I heard that The Devil Wears Prada was releasing new music I was both excited and nervous. I loved Dead Throne so much and I wasn’t sure how they would manage to top it.

Something that is a complaint of many fans is the …
