Run The Jewels continue to leave us awestruck, an unstoppable force yet to make a misstep. Rage Against The Machine’s Zack de la Rocha hopped onto the runaway train for “Close Your Eyes (And Count To Fuck)” and he didn’t slow down the machine a bit.

His voice, chopped and looped, serves as the track’s backbone throughout, even before his vintage, pissed off and politically-charged RATM verse winds the buzzsaw to a final stop (“the only thing they close quicker than the caskets be the factory”). They managed to seamlessly weave de la Rocha through the whole thing, and it still sounds like peak Run The Jewels.

Run The Jewels 2 is out October 27 on Mass Appeal Records. Make sure to sign up to get the album free as soon as it drops. Revisit the similarly sick “Blockbuster Night Pt. 1” and “Oh My Darling Don’t Cry” in the meantime.
