Another week, another low sales record

For the third time this year, the record for the lowest top album sales of the week has been set. Last week, Amos Lee sold 40,000 copies of Mission Bell to claim the #1 spot on Billboard, while Iron & Wine opened at #2 with 39,0000 units moved for the latest, Kiss Each Other Clean. It’s not all bad news though as this marks the highest single week sales for both Lee and I&W. What does this mean for the industry? Has turning our pop/rock talent into “single” artists destroyed their ability to move albums? Comment and let’s start a discussion!
