City and Colour Cover Tears for Fears

Let’s take a depressing, cold and edgy Canadian singer-songwriter and then we’ll have him cover a gloomy track by Tears for Fears. Sounds fun, right? Well, City and Colour have done just that. And it’s a morning maker. Dallas Green has made a soft, beautiful piano rendition of the Tears for Fears song “Suffer the […]

With the help of producer/DJ Matthew Dear, the Canadian sister duo Tegan and Sara have recorded a cover of Tears For Fears’ “Pale Shelter.” Tegan and Sara are no strangers to ’80s influenced hits, as shown on 2012’s Heartthrob, so tackling the 1983 single was a logical next step for the two. “We have been heavily […]

Hear Tears for Fears Cover Arcade Fire’s “Ready to Start”

Whenever I hear 80s new wave duo Tears for Fears, the first memory to pop in my mind is watching Donnie Darko after high school at my friend’s home. I just can’t figure out whether it’s sincere and lovable, or slightly turgid. Either way, probably best to take it at face value and play on. Give it a spin for cheeriness alone.”
