Nate Ruess Shares “Great Big Storm”

Earlier this morning, Nate Ruess continued to showcase his pop prowess by unveiling another new single titled “Great Big Storm.” Give it a listen after the break.

The fun. frontman’s newest track is taken from his forthcoming LP, Grand Romantic, which is set to arrive on June 16 via Fueled By Ramen. It is our third taste of the 33-year-old’s debut solo album following the release of “Nothing Without Love” and “ahHa.”

While I’m usually a fan of Ruess’ introspective, radio-ready anthems, something about “Great Big Storm” just doesn’t sit well with me. Sure, it’s …

WEEKLY WAX: Vinyl Releases For The Week Of 3/30-4/5

Welcome to this week’s edition of Weekly Wax!

The most exciting release of the last seven days is one that nobody saw coming. Copeland might have launched a painfully long pre-order for Ixora, but the wait will certainly be worth it, and you can still pick up a copy on black or white vinyl.

If you’ve yet to grab a copy of The Format‘s excellent and recently reissued Dog Problems, now is the time. The band posted copies with misprinted etchings (no effect on sound quality) for only $5, with the proceeds going to charity.

Those are …

The Format reuniting on P!ATD tour?

It appears that The Format will be reuniting on the Panic! At The Disco US tour. A few days ago, Nate Ruess tweeted on fun.’s Twitter saying on the upcoming tour with P!ATD, he would be performing acoustic and would feature “very special guests.”
Sam Means, former member of The Format, tweeted that he would be learning 8 new songs he’d never played before, and that’d he’d be relearning a few old songs. At the end of the tweet, he stated “fun.”
This could possibly mean a few The Format could be played on this tour.

I know it’s over 2 months away, but I couldn’t help writing about this amazing record already. Now, personally, I was never too into The Format, but as soon as I head “At Least I’m Not As Sad..” from Fun [ex Format’s lead vocalist’s new band], I knew I was hearing something special. I furious began writing every industry person I thought could put
