REVIEW: Rick Ross – ‘Black Dollar’

Artist: Rick Ross
Album: Black Dollar
Label: Maybach Music Group

Blurring the lines between albums and mixtapes, Black Dollar is the Rick Ross release fans have been waiting to hear.

The last few years have been wild for the leader of Maybach Music Group. In addition to a string of solid singles and lackluster albums, Ross has found himself being shot at, arrested and questioned over his supposed wealth. It seems as if the one-time prison security guard has finally begun to embody the persona he first thought to develop prior to Port Of Miami hitting the streets in 2006, …

Miguel and Wale found a lot of success with “Lotus Flower Bomb,” so it only makes sense that they collaborate again on the updated version of “Coffee (Fucking).” It’s still the Miguel show from beginning to end, but smack dab in the middle is a new verse from Wale that is on par, if not …

The Maybach Music Group is certainly making an impression on our newsfeed today.

Young Thug has released a remix to his street smash “Stoner” that features an appearance from MMG member Wale. The track, which you can stream at the end of this post, builds on the original effort with new verses on top of the already hard-hitting production.

Wale Releases “Clappers” Video Featuring Nicki Minaj and Juicy J

Keeping the hype for his latest album The Gifted alive and well, Maybach Music Group member Wale has released the official video for “Clappers.”

Featuring appearances from Nicki Minaj, Juicy J, Meek Mill (cameo), and a slew of gorgeous ladies, “Clappers” is another high-gloss, performance-heavy video from DC native Wale. The song is a far cry from the personal tales of ambition that helped make him a top level genre contender, but the catchiness of the beat and hook are undeniable. Even if the video does nothing for you, it’s hard to argue with the quality …
