DJ Khaled Streams “I’m Still” Featuring Chris Brown, Wiz Khalifa, Ace Hood, and Wale

No one can ever say DJ Khaled does not know how to choose his collaborators. Even when the songs are a bust the lineup brings the clicks, and in the digital age that is all you need to be a Buzzworthy name.

Khaled surprised fans last night by releasing two new songs over the course of several hours. We’re going to give each its fair time to shine, so for this post we’ll be discussing “I’m Still,” which features Chris Brown, Wiz Khalifa, Ace Hood, and MMG member Wale.

The first quasi-ballad to surface off Suffering From Success, “I’m Still” is a Chris Brown lead anthem for staying the course in the face of hate (and who knows better than Chris Brown about being hated, right?). The verses are a bit more hit and miss than the lineup may lead you to believe, but in the end it’s Wale who can claim to be finest on the mic. His verse, which is the first, fits the flow of the song without trying to turn the whole affair into his own material, and it’s his ability to adapt that carries his bars above the rest. You can stream “I’m Still” below.

Overall, “I’m Still” waiting for Suffering To Success to wow me. This track is fine, but it’s never going to score big at radio or in clubs. It’s a star-studded exercise in forgettable music and nothing more. Comment below and let us know if you plan on picking up the album when it arrives in stores October 22.
