February 23rd, 2011 James Shotwell Emmure’s latest album, Speaker Of The Dead, has opened at #65 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart with sales surpassing 10,000 units in the first week of release! This is a career high for the band and should help them in seeking a new label (Speaker was their last release for Victory Records). February 3rd, 2011 James Shotwell For the third time this year, the record for the lowest top album sales of the week has been set. Last week, Amos Lee sold 40,000 copies of Mission Bell to claim the #1 spot on Billboard, while Iron & Wine opened at #2 with 39,0000 units moved for the latest, Kiss Each Other Clean. It’s not all bad news though as this marks the highest single week sales for both Lee and I&W. What does this mean for the industry? West’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy sold over 518,000 units last week to top Nicki Minaj who opened at number two with sales topping over 371,000 for her debut, Pink Friday.
