Suicide Silence Announce ‘Stronger Than Faith Tour’

Suicide Silence have been non-stop in 2014 as a band since releasing You Can’t Stop Me, their first record to include ex-All Shall Perish singer Eddie Hermida after former frontman Mitch Lucker’s death. Come 2015, the deathcore moguls will begin the year with a sure bang that they are not slowing down any time soon.

The band announced that they will be embarking on the ‘Stronger Than Faith Tour’ that will have them touring throughout the United States in February and March of next year. February 17 at The Catalyst in Santa Cruz, CA will start the tour with …

Stray From The Path Drop Off Upcoming Tour, Sylar Joins

Stray From The Path took to Facebook yesterday to announce some disappointing news. The band, which has been touring excessively throughout 2014, has made the difficult choice to drop off the upcoming Eternal Enemies Tour with Emmure, The Acacia Strain, Fit For A King, and Kublai Khan.

This comes as the first time the band has cancelled a tour, mostly due in part that they were afraid their “dicks would fly off” if they did so. Stray’s last album, Anonymous, dropped in 2013 on Sumerian Records.

Here is the official statement from the band along with a video inside …

Singapore’s Avalanche Bring The Heavy With “Plaster Saint”

I love discovering international bands that tackle a sound refined in North America and make it entirely their own. It’s a feat that goes to show the amazing reach and power music has, regardless of nationality, and the latest band to knock me on my ass with their amazing technical prowess is none other than Singapore export Avalanche.

“Plaster Saint” is the kind of crazy, shred-tastic song that is impossible to resist if you’re a fan of modern metalcore. It has the bouncy bass line that runs rampant in today’s scene, only now it has been coupled with the type …

STREAM: Emmure – ‘Eternal Enemies’

There’s been a lot of buzz regarding Emmure’s forthcoming LP, Eternal Enemies, which hits shelves tomorrow (April 15) through Victory Records. Given, most of that buzz has been criticism, easy come easy go, right?

Following the release of two music videos (“Nemesis,” “Like LaMotta”), earlier today the group continued to hype their newest effort by streaming it in full a day ahead of its actual release. Check it out after the break.

Incredibly predictable and not the least bit forward-thinking, if you enjoy being sworn at by Frankie Palmeri for over an hour, you …

UTG Exclusive: Producer Joey Sturgis Picks His 10 Favorite Projects

I am almost certain there has not been a single day in the last few years of this website where we have not discussed at least one artist who has producer Joey Sturgis to thank (at least in part) for their success. His work on The Devil Wears Prada’s first releases ushered in a new era for hard rock production, and to this day he continues to push the limits of music production whenever possible. He’s also expanded his horizons, including the launch of a plugin series based on his own work, but at the end of the day it …

Even Emmure Look Bored Listening To Their New Song

Whenever a band makes it their business to try and push the boundaries of music and good taste they run the risk of eventually painting themselves into a corner. After more than half a decade of touring and a steady stream of new material every eighteen months or so, it seems Emmure have finally reached this point themselves, and it does not bode well for their upcoming studio album.

Over the weekend, a new song from Emmure titled “Nemesis” found its way online. It’s the first song to surface from the upcoming album Eternal Enemies, and in sticking with …

Co-Founder Of Emmure Calls Band & Label Out, Threatens Lawsuits

Yesterday, Emmure announced the details for their upcoming full-length album, Eternal Enemies. The group has come under fire in the past for releasing offensive merchandise, and now they are receiving criticism for one of the song titles on the new album. This time though, the band has offended their ex-founding member, Ben Lionetti. It seems that he could no longer keep to himself about the direction the band is heading, and released a statement calling out the band and threatening legal action against them and Victory. It’s not apparent right away why he would seek litigation, however, he does …

After a chaotic return in 2013 that was marred by bad weather, delays, and poor planning, Skate and Surf Festival has pulled out all of the stops to make the 2014 edition, which takes place May 17 and 18 in Middletown, New Jersey, a memorable one for all the right reasons. The first steps in the right direction are the two big surprises at the top of the bill.

UTG LIST: The Best ‘Ugly Christmas Sweaters’ From Bands Available In 2013

I don’t know how much time you’ve spent plotting your holiday shopping just yet, but the must-have item in nearly every band store this season is the “ugly Christmas sweater.” Sometimes sold as a crew neck with a sweater design, these items offer a humorous twist on the classic Christmas sweater while giving artists a decent excuse to cash in on the holiday season through merchandising. We love them, as we know many of you do, and after seeing our social feeds flooded with designs from countless bands we decided to compile all our favorite ugly sweaters to ease your …

Emmure Say Victory Records Never Cheated Or Stole From Them

There’s probably a bad taste in a lot of people’s mouths over the controversies seen between different bands and the label Victory Records. The most obvious feud is the current one, between them and A Day To Remember. There’s also some bad blood between the label and Between The Buried And Me, who have asked fans to pirate their earlier music in order to keep the label from cashing in on those old albums.

It was recently announced that Emmure would be re-signing to the label, and from the looks of it the band couldn’t be happier. In …
