Possibly A New Rage Against The Machine Album

It looks like Rage Against the Machine may be preparing to make a new record. The band told NME, after their free show in London over the weekend, that they very well might go into the studio to record their first disc since 2000’s Renegades.

Singer Zack de la Rocha said, “I think it’s a genuine possibility. We have to get our heads around what we’re going to do towards the end of the year and finish up on some other projects and we’ll take it from there.”

This is a shift from two years ago when guitarist Tom Morello responded to rumors that Rage was working on a new album by simply emailing MTV News the word “Nope.” The group started playing shows again in 2007 and rumors about a new album have been swirling ever since. Looks like four years of rumors might spell reality.

Rage Against the Machine will be playing the U.K.’s Download festival this weekend.
