“The Hangover 3” is coming…

Now that we’ve released our review and many of you have seen it, can we just outright say The Hangover 2 was, in nearly every sense of the word, a disappointment? Not only was it a verbatim rehash of the first film, but the avenues they took to make it “fresh” was essentially just amplified vulgarity in the form of male nudity and slutty monkeys. You may feel differently (which is fine), but I can speak for our entire staff when I say we all left the cinema feeling robbed and uninterested in continuing the adventures of the wolf pack.

However, when your film makes over $150 million in ten days and shatters every record an R-rated comedy can, public opinion suddenly becomes unimportant. You see, the fact of the matter is The Hangover series is a cinematic goldmine and in a time when ticket sales are sliding, the almighty dollar is really all that matters. As long as a film makes a profit, it will probably have a sequel, and The Hangover 2 is no different.

Both Rolling Stone and Collider have spoken with the cast and crew about the possibility of continuing the franchise and it appears everything well on its way to coming together. Zack Galifinakis (“Alan” in the films) was even quoted saying “”I’m getting fricking phone calls already.”

Lucky for the audience, it seems the film will have a different plot, but no details have been confirmed.
