Cleveland disc jockey and early rap artist Orrin Lynn Tolliver, Jr. just won $1.2 million dollars in a New York state court case against, essentially, “My Humps.” Apparently, Tolliver’s friend and long-time collaborator allowed Tolliver’s 1983 song, “I Need A Freak,” to be sampled without permission. Tolliver’s friend then lied about giving permission and never gave Tolliver a dime! Luckily, the judge saw through this B.S. and justice was served. Click here for the full story.
