No sequel escape my sight
Let those who worship good filmmaking’s might,
Beware my power… Green Lantern’s wallet!
Even though it has underwhelmed fans, critics, and movie goers alike, it has been confirmed that Warner Bros. has given the green light to another Green Lantern film.
Though it has yet to recover even 50% of it’s $200 million cost (currently sitting at $89 million domestically), the studio seems confident in return customers (of which I will not be).
No word yet on cast, director, or even if a script exists. There seems to be confirmation Mark Strong will be returning as Sinestro, but no official word has surfaced.
Maybe now we can learn what the point of his nephew was, or what they did with the yellow ring they never addressed after a single scene, or why green lantern corps. trains in a high tech facility yet meets in the most awkward and unfitting place possible. Just saying, if they need ideas, maybe they can start by finishing one of the half dozen story lines they started and abandoned in the first film.
