London Riots Put Over 150 Labels In Jeopardy

Sony DADC’s building, which holds the UK’s biggest distributor of independent music PIAS, has been added to the growing destruction of the London riots. These events have effected 150 indie labels that are currently holding shares and products in the warehouse. Though the extent of the damage is unknown a rep from Sony commented, “We know DADC was destroyed and are waiting to confirm exactly how badly this has affected Pias.”

Regardless of the extent of the damages we can confirm over 150 indie labels will be effected. These labels, which can be seen below, make up almost the entirety of the music scene and leaves many industry officials wondering how they will ever recover.

We at UTG understand there is more at stake in these riots, than the industry, but as we are an entertainment website we felt this was the most fitting way to comment on the situation. Our hearts go out to all of those effected.
