Mos Def has announced, through an MTV interview, that he will no longer carry his stage name and will be retiring it by the end of 2011. The legendary rapper will now be known as Yasiin.
Watch the interview past the jump in which he explains the exact reasoning for the switch and why “Mos Def” will be no more.
I don’t care what his new name is, I’m still going to call him Mos Def at the end of the day.
