Attack! Attack! Recruit Phil Druyor of I Am Abomination, Druyor Releases Statement

After already reporting on Caleb Shomo’s departure from Attack! Attack! and reemerging under the alias Beartooth, it seems Attack! Attack! have recruited Phil Druyor of I Am Abomination to fill Shomo’s shoes as the band’s new vocalist.

Druyor has released a statement about Attack! Attack!, the becomings of I Am Abomination as well as new songs. Read the statement below.

Dear friends,

If you are reading this, you are more than likely seeking confirmation that I am the new vocalist for Attack Attack! This is true. After Caleb and AJ decided that they would no longer continue on with the band, I was asked if I would like to join and make a new record with them. I said yes to both. The decision was very easy to make due to the fact that we’ve been friends for almost the entire duration of both our band’s careers.

To be clear, this does not mean that I Am Abomination is over. At all. I will be fulfilling my roll in each band simultaneously, and since I Am Abomination doesn’t tour much (or at all), it really won’t change much about us. The biggest difference is that we won’t be in the same room while working on the early stages of each record.

This part is my favorite. Starting on January 5th, I will be making a new record with Attack Attack! Over the last few years, my best friend/guitarist/vocal coach/life coach has become one of the most amazing producers in the industry right now, and I am proud to say that Nick Sampson will be producing the new Attack Attack! record. The direction of the new album is definitely a bit of a change up, but I feel that the band has made a name for themselves inside of their genre by being the band to change the game first. We plan to do that again.

And in closing, thank you to every single person who has ever supported me in all that I do. I appreciate it more than you could ever know. However, I am not asking for your approval. I do not need you to sign off on the matter. This is not an application. I wouldn’t have accepted the offer if I didn’t think that I could make respectable music with them. I am simply informing you that the world is going to be taken over in 2013, and I’m inviting you all along for the ride. I would enjoy your company.

P.S. There will be a new Attack Attack! song posted TOMORROW!

I hope these guys ditch the shitty metalcore and start sounding like I Am Abomination

What’s the rumor? Why would you say something like that, but not tell us what you heard?

  5. Ryan Getz says:

I heard they are going mainstream. The new song kinda confirms it, but it’s not as bad as I thought it would be.

I hope these guys ditch their lives and swallow a grenade or two…or ten.
