I know it’s pretty hard to separate ourselves from feverishly clicking on “Harlem Shake” videos, but Diplo has a gift for those of you so obsessed with nostalgia you’re already longing to revisit the most overplayed song of 2012.

After being teased back in December, Diplo has finally unveiled his official remix for Psy’s viral sensation, “Gangnam Style.” The song features a reworked structure that strives to make the club-friendly song feel fresh once again, with new verses from 2 Chainz and Tyga added on top to hopefully earn a few extra clicks. The verses are admirable, and I will never be the type to speak ill of Diplo’s work, but it’s either way too late or far too early for this track to surface once again. “Gangnam Style” wore out its welcome before it hit the billion views mark, and anyone familiar with the quickly fading popularity of internet stardom can tell you lightning rarely strikes twice (especially with an only slightly reworked gimmick).
