Young Money artist Drake has made good on promises from last month and released his official video for the song “5AM In Toronto.”
The clip, which is the second video from Drake to surface in 2013, finds the young MC reciting his lines while hanging out with friends in parking lots and indoor volleyball courts (seriously). When compared to “Started From The Bottom” there is not much to be said other than that this clip feels a bit lazy. It’s less than seven takes in maybe three locations and a song this powerful deserves far better. “Started From The Bottom” has a bigger hook, but this is the track where Drake keeps his focus and tells it like it is, at least from his perspective. You can view the video at the end of this post.
Drake has yet to confirmed whether or not “5AM In Toronto” will make it on his forthcoming album Nothing Was The Same, but the presence of a video leads us to believe the song will indeed end up somewhere in the coming months. Comment below and let us know your thoughts on the video for “5AM In Toronto.”
