Fleetwood Mac Unveil ‘Extended Play,’ First New Material in a Decade

Fleetwood Mac have slowly been stepping back into the music spotlight lately. After teasing crowds on their recent world tour with 2 new songs, Fleetwood Mac finally drops the long awaited, Extended Play. The new EP marks the first new music from the band in a decade.

While 10 years may seem like an awful long time, it’s nothing compared to nearly half a century, which is almost how long it took to release a studio version of the song, “Without You.” The track dates back to the early 70s, where the duo of Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks co-wrote the song before they were even officially members of the band. The studio version of the track makes an appearance on the new EP, along with 3 other new songs written by Lindsey Buckingham.

After personally seeing the band perform live in Philadelphia back in April, I can honestly say that Fleetwood Mac can absolutely still bring the goods. While it would have been incredible to see Christine McVie come out of retirement and join the band on their current tour, they still played all of the notable hits from their catalog. If you aren’t too familiar with Fleetwood Mac, do yourself a favor, educate yourself, and listen to their album, Rumours, which is widely considered one of the greatest albums of all time.
