You clearly know nothing about music considering you refer to City and Colour as a band…. its one dude, Dallas Green… You shouldn’t even be writing entertainment news with silly mistakes like that.

  2. Brian Lion says:

While referring to C&C as a band may be slightly misleading, Green does not play all the instruments himself and has backing members on all his albums. For you to say someone clearly knows NOTHING about music because of one “mistake” that really isn’t technically a mistake is a tad excessive in rudeness.

    Thanks for reading though!

  3. Josh says:

Fair enough, what I should’ve said is that anyone reporting entertainment news for a website should do their due diligence and actually know their facts about the band/singer they are reporting on. This article shows a lack of professionalism. And your facts are wrong, he does play every instrument for the studio recordings. He only has people that tour with him. He had some collaborators on Bring Me Your Love, but that’s it. So maybe before running your mouth, you should get your facts straight

  4. Brian Lion says:

I do agree that someone reporting about a specific band/artist should know exactly what they’re talking about. No way to dispute that, but I must be confused about this statement from Dallas himself. Maybe I was too busy running my mouth to comprehend it…

“I had an amazing time recording The Hurry and The Harm in Nashville this winter. Alex Newport joined me as producer again and I couldn’t be prouder of the talented group of guys that joined me. Jack Lawrence played bass (and has since joined me on the road), Matt Chamberlain and James Gadson took turns on drums, Bo Koster worked the keys, Spencer Cullum Jr added pedal steel and both Anthony Lamarchina & Karen Winkelmann contributed to the string arrangement.”

  5. Tomas says:

Im with you on this Brian, Josh – Dallas doesnt play every instrument on the record and hasnt done for the last few – previously he has recorded with mates Dan Romano etc (theres plenty of behind the scenes evidence out there) and this time he had some session musicians come in and add their own touches (again Dallas talks about this on recent interview). The name City and Colour is indeed representative of himself but also everyone involved so its both a solo and band name.

So basically take advice from your own quote… ‘maybe before running your mouth, you should get your facts straight’

  6. Josh says:

Ok so maybe he add backup for this album. Nonetheless, you wouldn`t refer to Neil Young as a band just because other artists recorded with him. And Dallas has been the only person to play on every single album, not to mention the name of the “band” as you call is based on his name (Dallas=city Green=colour). So maybe you were too busy running your mouth to use some basic common sense.

  7. Josh says:

I don’t even know why I’m wasting my time trying to convince you. Your just a dumbass from some unknown website, so no one will see this anyways. And I think its hilarious that a ton of the articles on this website have people commenting about incorrect information, and then it continues like this with you getting defensive. Your website is clearly a pile of shit.

  8. Dan Bogosian says:

It would seem like you’re basically just trying to make excuses for being wrong. I don’t think anyone would refer to a Neil Young and Crazy Horse album as just a Neil Young album. The fact that said band is named after it’s front man does not change the fact that Dallas doesn’t play everything.

True wisdom is accepting defeat. I hope it gets easier for you.

  9. Josh says:

Great… another dumbass that works for this useless website… and maybe you guys should accept defeat instead of getting defensive on every single article where people call you out for incorrect information.

  10. Brian Lion says:

Look, if we’re a piece of shit website that no one knows, then leave. Why are you here anyway? You obviously are completely unaware of our numbers (do a little research before you refer to us as “unknown”) and have next to no knowledge about what you think you know. You had so much confidence in your ignorant spew, yet you were wrong and still decided to come back with some cocksure remarks. Journalists make mistakes. We own up to them. I’m sure you’re not familiar with how a site is run and the chaos that’s involved or you wouldn’t say something like that. The fact is, you came right out of the gate with an incredible attitude and blatant rudeness claiming to know it all, but you were completely incorrect.

I imagine you had to go through quite a few articles to find “a ton of articles” that were commented on about incorrect information.

I only know of one recent one in particular where a date was wrong and I simply responded with, “That is definitely incorrect haha. Thank you for pointing that out.” That’s not exactly defensive. However, if someone wants to start with excessive insults rather than being helpful, such as yourself, that’s different.

  11. Go read AP you whiney bitch.

  12. Julian says:

I love that you’re determined to spend your time arguing the point on a stream of a song about not spending your time pursuing things that will only cause frustration. Let it go, man.

As for the original comment, whether you were right or wrong, you should have been respectful, at least.

  13. Tiny says:

City and Colour is one man, Dallas Green but this album is full band – Sometimes is pretty much all Dallas, Bring me your love is the same, Little Hell introduces more people playing the music, Daniel Romano was the man behind all the weird sounds you hear but Dallas can play the majority of things you hear on the record but I think he just wanted to hear other peoples interpretations of his ideas. Hurry and the Harm is such a different sound and has some great features music wise – this song in particular just blows me away, so nice to hear Dallas do something different and it really really grows on you the more you listen
