After announcing its end on Friday, Senses Fail kept their promise and officially retired their longtime fan favorite “187” at the Stone Pony in New Jersey last night. We weren’t there, but several diligent SF fans were, and they were kind enough to capture the song’s final bow for the rest of us to enjoy.
I don’t know where I was the first time I heard “187,” but I do remember feeling like vocalist Buddy Nielsen completely understood my broken fifteen-year-old heart. Since that time, “187” has become one of the quintessential tracks from the “early days of the scene,” and its retirement is yet another reminder we’re all starting to inch closer to thirty. The final performance of “187” is as lively and energetic as one could hope such a song’s farewell could be, and you can enjoy the performance (from multiple angles) below.
Senses Fail are still putting out great music, and we highly encourage you to see them live if you ever get the chance. Feel free to comment below and let us know your thoughts on the end of “187.”
