Suicide Silence Guitarist Mark Heylum Claims “We Don’t Want To Think About What We’re Going To Do”

The passing of Suicide Silence frontman Mitch Lucker in the Fall of 2012 is still fresh in the minds of many in the music community. Lucker was loved around the world, and in the months that have passed since he left this world fans and bands have been pouring out their memories and well wishes for his family in abundance. Now things are beginning to quiet down and many are wondering what will come of the band without Lucker’s presence. According to a new interview with Mark Heylum it seems the answer to that question is one that remains unanswered.

Speaking with Loudwire in a new interview about the band’s mindset now that some time has passed since Lucker’s death, Heylum offered, “Well the mindset right now is that none of us really have the energy after all of this. From going 150,000 miles per hour in the band, going to a different country every week and going at it so hard, then all of a sudden stopping. We don’t want to do anything. We don’t want to think about what we’re going to do. We want to chill out for a little bit and then if something happens, it happens, if it doesn’t, it doesn’t. It’s as simple as that.”

The rock news website also inquired about the band’s plans to release a dvd of the memorial concert held in Lucker’s honor last year. To that, Heylum responded “We will definitely be releasing a memorial DVD from the memorial show we did for Mitch. We played in California last year and that will definitely be coming out, so we definitely have at least a couple of more releases in the coming year — DVD stuff and you know, like we said, we don’t have plans on anything else.”

As much as we would love to see the band back on their feet, it goes without saying we’d rather they feel such moves were right for them as a group than have them take any action they do not believe honors Lucker’s memory. Do you think they should return to the open road? Comment below and let us know your thoughts.
