With Summer right around the corner, J. Cole takes to Soundcloud to release a new song entitled, “Niggaz Know.”

Premiering around 9PM (EST) last night, May 30, “Niggaz Know” is the kind of track that screams classic from the opening seconds. A drum sample with light vinyl fuzz noise ushers you in quickly before Cole comes in with his signature autobiographic style. It has been a moment since we heard about Cole’s personal journey, and before the first verse closes you’re quickly caught up and everything we missed. The hook is solid, but simple and repetitive, then the second verse enters and the man who just gave us a refresher goes in on why his current position is one to be desired. It’s the song equivalent of the line “if you don’t know, now you know” and it’s one fans will want to spin on repeat. You can stream “Niggaz Know” below.

J. Cole’s new album, Born Sinner, hits stores June 18. Since that is the same day as Mac Miller And Kanye West’s albums, you may want to plan ahead and preorder the album on itunes now.
