Waxahatchee Premiere “Coast To Coast” Video

Although Waxahatchee’s sophomore effort, Cerulean Salt, was released in early March, many of the record’s fuzzy, nostalgic tracks always seemed better suited for hazy summer afternoons than late winter doldrums.

Luckily, Katie Crutchfield – the solo artist behind Waxahatchee and a former member of P.S. Eliot –  has fully embraced Cerulean Salt‘s summery vibes. The just-released video for “Coast to Coast,” which shows Crutchfield playing guitar on a dock, goofing off with dogs and jumping into Tennessee’s Waxahatchee Creek, is a light, upbeat companion to the song. (It’s actually so fun that I almost feel it should be labeled NSFW, because once you watch it you’re all but guaranteed to abandon your desk, grab some friends, and beeline for the nearest body of water. It can’t be helped.) And clocking in at a brief 1:51, the video is as fleeting and beautiful as summer itself.
