Modest Mouse Finishing New Album, Cancel Tour

Modest Mouse

Here’s some good news and some good news for people who love bad news. The bad news is if you’re a Modest Mouse fan from Europe, the tour is cancelled and you won’t be seeing them very soon. The good news is, they cancelled it to finish work on their newest album, which would be the first collection of new material since 2009’s No One’s First And You’re Next EP (that’s right, non-actual-Modest-Mouse-fans, they’ve done studio work since the 2007 full-length We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank).

The band released a statement on Facebook saying the following:

After much thought, we have decided to cancel our EU/UK tour to continue work on our forthcoming album. We do appreciate our fans and promise that we will make it up to you next year.

Refunds will be available at the point of purchase.

We look forward to sharing our new music with the world next year.

We’ll keep you updated on the band’s studio progress as information floats in.
