Liam Neeson Closing Deal To Join ‘Taken 3’ For $20 Million

If there was ever any doubt it’s good to be Liam Neeson, a new story on Deadline this morning should put all naysayers to rest.

Not long after Taken 2 opened last Fall, 20th Century Fox announced plans to move forward with a third film in the franchise, but offered no indication whether or not star Liam Neeson would again return. Neeson was famously cautious to make the sequel in the first place, but eventually gave in (taking a $15 million dollar pay day in the process). Now, according to an article posted just last night, sources close to the studio say Neeson is currently closing a deal in the vicinity of $20 million to reprise his role once more for what we hope would be the final chapter of Taken.

At this time, no additional casting or production information can be confirmed, but the Deadline article goes on to state that Eurocorp plans to begin filming in February 2014. If Neeson were to rejoin, the studio would next have to recruit Maggie Grace, who played his daughter in the first two films, and Famke Janssen, who played his ex-wife. The script is already well underway by the scribes of the first two, but given the messiness of the second entry that doesn’t exactly fill us with confidence. Comment below and let us know if you want to see Taken 3 come to life.
