Kanye West To Release ‘Yeezus Part 2’?

It seems like Kanye West may be pulling a Justin Timberlake. In an interview with The Daily Beast, Rick Rubin discussed working with Kanye West on his new album, Yeezus, and the possibility of their being a follow-up album.

“Initially, he thought there were going to be 16 songs on the album. But that first day, before he even asked me to work on it, I said, ‘Maybe you should make it more concise. Maybe this is two albums. Maybe this is just the first half,'” said Rubin. “That was one of the first breakthroughs. Kanye was like, ‘That’s what I came here today to hear! It could be 10 songs!'”

Yeezus debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200, selling 327,000 copies.

While this statement doesn’t confirm or deny plans of a Yeezus Part 2, it’s certainly puts Kanye West back into the spotlight. West’s new album has received universal acclaim based on 39 critics via Metacritic.com, and rightfully so. Yeezus is certainly a fresh and interesting take on hip-hop, or whatever of genre of music you’d like to call it. I am positive that upon first listen, you will seem confused and ask the question, “what is this?” However, after fully comprehending what you’ve just heard the first time, I am certain you will be singing the praises of what many other industry folks believe should you choose to give the album a second spin.
