A$AP Ferg has recruited fellow Mob member A$AP Rocky to debut the lead single off his upcoming Trap House project.
Premiering last night on NYC radio via Funkmaster Flex, “Shabba” has been making waves in the hip hop community even though a CDQ has only been available for a few short hours. The beat harkens back to something Ol’ Dirty Bastard might play with, but the flow and and structure is 100% a product of the A$AP Mob universe. You can stream the song, which is expected to arrive on iTunes soon, below.
As much as I have loved watching A$AP Ferg develop in recent months, “Shabba” feels like a step backwards from the intensity found on the “Work” remix. The Mob has mastered a couple of flows that always sound good on tape, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they always deliver. Comment below and let us know what you think of Ferg’s latest.
Trap House is scheduled for an August 20 release, which coincidentally falls just under a year from the release of the last A$AP Mob mixtape.
