Will ‘Chronicle 2’ Happen Now that Max Landis Is A No Go?

Chronicle received a lot of praise and did pretty okay at the box office, so fans and critics alike got excited with the mention of a sequel. Now no one is even sure there’ll be one now that original writer Max Landis is out.

A few months back Landis was pretty positive that there’d be a Chronicle 2, as he said things were going good and moving forward. Now, not so much. Apparently Fox didn’t want to head where Landis was taking the sequel’s script and bailed out, hiring new writers to the table. So Landis took to Twitter to set the record straight on everything.

“Ultimately, I’m just very grateful to Fox for making a film as close to my original script as Chronicle was. For making the film at all. So yeah it’s sad that as of right now I’m not involved in the sequel, and don’t know what it’s about even, but ultimately I can’t complain…Chronicle 2 is still probably happening, just not with my involvement as of now. It’s a bummer, but there are no real hard feelings.”

2012’s Chronicle was the story of three teens who discover they have supernatural powers and as they learned to deal with having them, things start to take a turn for the dark side. So there’s no telling where the story will pick up now that Landis is out, and these new writers are in. Heck, who knows if it’ll even come through?
