Danny Brown Partners With Insane Clown Posse On “When I’m Clownin”

Every Thursday morning I wake up wishing time travel had been invented just so I could skip a day ahead and be one morning closer to the weekend. Realizing no such invention exists, I eventually reach for the closest cup of coffee and go through the day with visions of freedom dancing around my distracted mind. Today is different, however, and I have a feeling your day may change course as well after the clip you’re about to see.

Detroit native Danny Brown has partnered with fellow Michigan-bred rappers Insane Clown Posse on a new single fittingly entitled, “When I’m Clownin.” The official video premiered online at some point over the last day and has only just begun to make rounds on various music publications. Neither the clip nor the track is a gigantic departure for ICP, who have built a career on bathroom humor, Faygo, and a love of face paint that defies explanation (all of which are featured in the video), but the real reason to watch and listen is the addition of Brown to the mix. For a group known for the outrageous behavior, Danny Brown fits in well with the Juggalo mix, and when his verse rolls around he lyrically leaves Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope in the dust. You can hear (and see) for yourself at the end of this post.

As much as I hate to admit it, there are certainly moments of “When I’m Clownin” I enjoy, and if you’re a fan of Danny Brown’s work I have a feeling you may find yourself struggling with the same feelings. It’s okay, really. We won’t tell anyone you like an ICP song if you don’t want us to, but we will encourage you to stop by Danny Brown’s official site and pick up his latest mixtape. His debut album is expected soon as well, so follow UTG on Twitter to make sure you never miss another headline.
