‘Curse Of Chucky’ Red Band Trailer Ups The Violence

By now you’ve probably heard that everyone’s favorite murderous doll has a brand new movie coming out, but it wasn’t until this morning that we got a good look at the terror that awaits.

Weeks have passed since we brought you the initial trailer for Curse Of Chucky, the sixth film in the decades old Child’s Play franchise. The footage was promising, and even unveiled a newly redesigned Chucky, but we felt it lacked the violent undertones so gratuitously tapped in previous installments. If you agree, then the red band clip at the end of this post (courtesy of BD) will likely make your week.

Written and directed by Mancini, Curse of Chucky finds a family imperiled by the murderous doll that launched a generation’s nightmares – determined to finish a job that was started long ago. The film stars Fiona Dourif (The Master, True Blood), A Martinez (Longmire, General Hospital), Danielle Bisutti (Get Smart, CSI: Miami) and Brennan Elliott (Double Jeopardy), with Brad Dourif (The Lord of the Rings) once again providing the voice of Chucky, the homicidal plaything inhabited by the spirit of notorious serial killer Charles Lee Ray.

Curse Of Chucky arrives digitally September 24, with a physical release planned on October 8.
