System Of A Down frontman Serj Tankian (again) put to rest rumors of a new album from the group in a recently conducted AMA on Reddit yesterday.
Tankian was asked by a fan: “Is it true that there’s a new System of a Down record in the making?” He replied “No, that is not true. A quick scan of press online will show that we have not yet agreed on a timetable for another record due to its time commitments.” The fan then went on to write: “Seriously I think everyone wants a new System Of A Down album. It’s been too long since the last one.” Tankian then stated, “We really appreciate that, but we have to make a record when we think it’s time, not anyone else.”
This is as much proof as Under The Gun Review needs to put these rumors of System Of A Down’s album to rest. They will not be putting out a follow-up to 2005’s Mezmerize/Hypnotize.
