Dustin Kensrue Announces Second Solo Album, Streams Song Originally Intended For Thrice

Ever since former Thrice frontman Dustin Kensrue released Please Come Home years ago fans have been chomping at the bit for information regarding additional solo recordings. There was a holiday album at one point, but we would be lying if we said that satisfied our craving for Kensrue’s signature voice. Now, after more than a year out of the spotlight, Kensrue has announced plans to follow his debut with a new album release later this year.

Hitting stores October 1 via BEC Recordings/Mars Hill Music, The Water and The Blood will be the first musical offering from Kensrue since Thrice took their final bow. No tracklist or album art was confirmed alongside the release, but AltPress is premiering a new song today that we believe is taken from the release. The song was originally intended for release by Thrice, but will now live as Kensrue’s most mature solo release to date. You can stream the song below.

We are pretty damn excited for The Water and The Blood, so expect plenty of updates as more information regarding the album’s release becomes available. Until then, comment below and let us know your thoughts on Dustin’s new material.
