WTF: Larry The Cable Guy Will Star In ‘Jingle All The Way 2’

We wish this was a joke.

Variety is reporting that WWE studios will produce a sequel to the 1996 family film Jingle All The Way starring none other than Larry The Cable Guy. The film will be directed by Tooth Fairy 2 helmer Alex Zamm and feature an appearance from WWE superstar Santino Marella. Production is expected to begin in March.

Jingle All The Way 2 was announced alongside The Marine 4 as part of WWE’s latest partnership with FOX. Previous projects between these two companies include The Marine and 12 Rounds, both of which starred John Cena. It’s expected that Jingle 2 will go straight to home video, but that information cannot be confirmed at this time.

“WWE Studios remains a valuable partner and we are pleased to continue to bring these films to their legions of fans across the globe,” said Mike Dunn, president, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment. “We’re excited to be launching the fourth installment of the tremendously successful franchise, ‘The Marine,’ and to have Larry the Cable on board for ‘Jingle All the Way 2,’ a perfect star for our first family comedy with WWE Studios.”

WWE studios has a number of additional film projects slated for release/production in 2014. The most notable is Leprechaun: Origins, starring Hornswoggle, which Lionsgate will release in August. The Soska Sisters’ See No Evil 2 will also be released by Lionsgate in October.
