Angelina Jolie stepped behind the camera to bring the story of a true American hero to the big screen in Unbroken.
The movie showcases the life of Louis Zamperini, a delinquent who turns to running track. After setting records at the 1936 Olympics, he did what most men did at that time and enlisted. If you thought his story ended there – you were dead wrong. The real heart of the film comes after he’s lost at sea and is captured by the enemy.
Jolie’s Unbroken was not only inspired by the Zamperini’s true story, but also a book by the same name penned by Laura Hillenbrand. What’s sure to be a critic favorite hits theaters this Christmas. You can see for yourself why below.
