Last week, we got a short teaser for “The Brightening,” the first new song from New Jersey’s Day At The Fair since the release of their only full-length, The Rocking Chair Years, nine years ago. The full song is out today, and you can stream it after the break.
The track builds slowly from a lighter-ready, acoustic ballad into huge, swaying ending that makes it clear that even after nearly a decade, Chris Barker and company are still on top of their game. You can purchase “The Brightening” on iTunes and Bandcamp through Broken Heart Records. Sales of the song will go towards the recording of a new album, titled The Epilogue, which the band hope to release later this summer. Proceeds from the record will be donated to charity.
