STREAM: Structures – “The Worst Of Both Worlds” Feat. Drew York

Structures have made a couple of very exciting announcements this weekend. The first being that they will be releasing a brand new album via Sumerian Records titled Life Through A Window on May 13. Pre-order bundles are already available for purchase, and you can grab yourself one through Merch Connection. The group also premiered the lead single from the album, titled “The Worst Of Both Worlds” featuring Drew York Of Stray From The Path. The lyric video for the song is available to check out below the jump.

“The Worst Of Both Worlds” is both alike and different from Structures’ previous releases. The instruments, especially the guitars, are incredibly similar to the sound we’ve come to expect from the band. The vocals, however, are vastly different from what we’ve heard before. In Divided By, the vocals were generally very deep and low, but on this new song they’re a little higher. The vocals have shifted to a more “yelling” style.

The band stated that they’ve changed the direction of their style, due in part to their lineup change, and this new track is a clear indication of that. It’s certainly not a bad change, and it will be interesting to hear what the rest of their upcoming album sounds like.
