My Chemical Romance may be a part of music history at this point, but former frontman Gerard Way is moving forward with plans to release solo material in the near future. Today, filmmaker Kevin Smith revealed via Twitter that Way has recently completed work on an original track that will serve as the closing song for Smith’s upcoming film Tusk. No word yet on when we can expect to hear the song.
You can view Smith’s original tweet at the end of this post.
It’s likely we will see at least a trailer for Tusk before the end of 2014. Smith created the film, which tells the horrifying tale of a man who realizes he is slowly becoming a walrus, based on a conversation that took place during a podcast taping with longtime producer Scott Mosier several years ago. Production began at the end of 2013 and wrapped earlier this year. Justin Long stars alongside Michael Parks (Red State), Haley Joel Osment (The Sixth Sense) and Genesis Rodriguez (Identity Thief, The Last Stand).
We will bring you more information on both Tusk and Gerard Way’s blossoming solo career as soon as more details become available.
