Even though Punk Goes ’90s Vol 2 came out just under two weeks ago, Fearless Records is continuing their media push for the album. One of the covers on the album is by Yellowcard, and they recorded their version of The Smashing Pumpkins‘ hit single, “Today.” Less than 24 hours ago Fearless went ahead and premiered the colorful lyric video for that cover. Yellowcard are obviously not in the same genre as some of the artists on this compilation. While it’s fun to hear “screaming” versions of the songs covered over the years, it’s nice to hear a pop punk band’s version instead. These guys are a bit more on the mellow side, and don’t butcher their rendition of the song they chose like a couple of other bands did on this comp.

There are certainly a handful of decent singles on this edition of the Punk Goes… series, so if you haven’t picked it up yet you can always purchase a digital copy on iTunes.
