James Blake‘s monthly BBC Radio 1 residency has always been fodder for fun music things – new music premieres, slick remixes, that charming fake Burial interview. Last month, Blake had fun with listeners again when he debuted a chill new track called “Bloke” from a gent dubbed “Simon Tallywhacker,” which didn’t sound fishy at all from the very moment he uttered the name.
Well, “Simon Tallywhacker” was Jamie xx, and “Bloke” was “Girl,” the A-side off Jamie xx’s new 12″. “Girl” has now been shared officially, along with one of those videos that isn’t totally a music video, but it moves, so it’s kinda like a music video, but we don’t really know what to call it… You know, like the tUnE-yArDs and EMA singles. It’s fun.
“Girl” / “Sleep Sound” is out May 5 on Young Turks. Enjoy the track below; pre-order the single here.
