STREAM: Conor Oberst’s Third ‘Upside Down Mountain’ Single, “Kick”

Upside Down Mountain, the new solo record from indie songwriter Conor Oberst, is set up for release on May 20 from Nonesuch Records.

In place of the full album stream, which has mysteriously disappeared from the MusicFeeds post, the third single from the album, entitled “Kick,” is available for streaming below.

About the album, Oberst stated, “This is a return to an earlier way I wrote. It’s more intimate or personal, if you will. For me, language is a huge part of why I make music. I’m not the greatest guitar player or piano player — I’m not the greatest singer, either — but I feel if I can come up with melodies I like that are fused with poetry I’m proud of, then that’s what I bring to the table. That’s why I’m able to do this.”

Pre-orders for the album are available here. Stream “Kick,” a song about Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.’s daughter, Kathleen “Kick” Kennedy, below.
