‘Big Hero 6’ Trailer: Marvel And Disney Deliver An Animated Superhero Adventure

When 2014 comes to an end there will have been five feature films released to theaters that are little more than adaptations of classic Marvel literature. Two have already hit the silver screen (Captain America 2, Amazing Spider-Man 2), another arrives tomorrow (Days Of Future Past, then one in August (Guardians Of The Galaxy), and finally – later in the fall – Big Hero 6 will cap off a year overloaded with heroic tales by presenting the first animated theatrically released animated Marvel adaptation.

Featuring the story of a young robotics prodigy who attempts to save his futuristic city by building his own team of superhero machines, Big Hero 6 aims to target comic fans young and old without the fuss of using real actors. The first trailer leaves the majority of the plot under wraps, but does offer a cute and wonderfully designed look at Disney’s latest digitally conceived universe. Big Hero 6 opens November 7 and features a voice cast that includes T.J. Miller, Maya Rudolph, and Jamie Chung.

Official synopsis:

“Big Hero 6″ is a heartfelt comedy adventure about robotics prodigy Hiro Hamada, who learns to harness his genius—thanks to his brilliant brother Tadashi and their like-minded friends: adrenaline junkie Go Go Tamago, clean freak Wasabi No-Ginger, chemistry whiz Honey Lemon and fanboy Fred. When a devastating turn of events catapults them into the midst of a dangerous plot unfolding in the streets of San Fransokyo, Hiro turns to his closest companion—a cutting-edge robot named Baymax—and transforms the group into a band of high-tech heroes determined to solve the mystery. Inspired by the Marvel comics of the same name, and featuring comic-book style action and all the heart and humor audiences expect from Walt Disney Animation Studios, “Big Hero 6″ is directed by Don Hall (“Winnie the Pooh”) and Chris Williams (“Bolt”), and produced by Roy Conli (“Tangled”). The film hits theaters in 3D on November 7, 2014.
