Memorial Day is not typically viewed as a gift giving holiday, but don’t tell that to Lana Del Rey. She has given us the gift of music and it may be the best thing you hear all week long.
Ahead of the June 13 release date set for her new album Ultraviolence, Lana Del Rey has shared a new song with fans titled “Shades Of Cool.” The track is the second to surface from the album, following the early April premiere of “West Coast.” You can stream the song, in full, below:
I had to sit down before when I first heard this song. My knees became weak and I was struggling to stand because my head and heart suddenly felt light as air. Lana has had that kind of effect on me for years, at least to an extent, but so far Ultraviolence seems to convey the purest emotions that LDR has shared to date. It’s simultaneously heartbreaking and enchanting, with a strong sense of dramatic tension running throughout the whole affair. I don’t know whether to console her or start dancing, but I kind of want to do both.
Ultraviolence arrives in stores less than three weeks from today. Click here to pre-order the album.

I like “West Coast” a lot more. This is a decent song but it drags on way too long. I got pretty bored halfway through.
No no I am not agree with that because of http://bit.ly/1tFDwSM
I felt that way the first listen, but on spin two or three it just clicked. I’m sure it will fit well within the context of the full album.
