Tigers Jaw Release ‘Charmer’ Early Following Album Leak

Album leaks seem to become more prominent with each year that passes and hardworking bands suffer more and more from irresponsible and disrespectful persons putting their material out before it’s to be officially released. Scranton, PA’s Tigers Jaw were set to release their newest effort, Charmer, on June 3 but the album was leaked online just recently. According to the band’s label, Run For Cover Records, this leak “is NOT the final version of the album, and is missing songs.”

Those of us that pre-ordered Charmer received our digital downloads yesterday and I haven’t stopped listening to it since. I think it’s safe to say that even as it’s quite the departure from the band’s previous sound (when they weren’t just a duo), Charmer is Tigers Jaw’s best effort to date. With excellent production from Will Yip, melodies to soothe your soul, and beautiful vocal duets from Ben and Brianna, this record is quickly climbing my favorites of 2014 thus far.

To quickly adapt to the unfortunate fact that a version of the album is making the rounds online, Tigers Jaw and their label have decided to release the album over a week before it was originally set to drop, and for only $5 on Bandcamp. A lot of you probably spent that much on a coffee this morning that lasted you 10 minutes. I promise you that this album is worth far more than that and provides a far superior buzz. You can also still pre-order Charmer on vinyl, too!

Watch the band’s excellent new video for “Hum” after the jump.
