It’s Friday and I just wanna chill the day away; melt into the weekend with my eyes closed. These two new chillcore trip-hop jams from Arms & Sleepers will serve as the soundtrack on an endless loop.
I’ve been awaiting new music from this Boston duo for some time. Black Paris 86 and Matador are still in constant rotation for me. I fall asleep to them at least 3 nights a week. Now, finally, we get a taste of what’s to come on their as yet untitled forthcoming effort with “Hurry Slowly” and “Unshield,” both of which are playing over at Don’t Need No Melody. Max and Mirza claim that the new album was inspired by Miami Vice and J Dilla, two influences that are abundantly clear amidst these two new tracks with a cool retro vibe and some very Dilla-like beats amidst A&S’ classic ambient sound.
Stream “Hurry Slowly” and “Unshield” after the jump, but you might want to hold off if you have anything productive that needs to get finished; these will hypnotize you into lethargy.
