‘BoJack Horseman’ Trailer: Will Arnett Voices A Drunk Horse For Netflix

Netflix has released the first trailer for BoJack Horseman, an original animated series set to premiere on the streaming platform later this year.

The better part of the past two years have been riddled with headlines about Netflix’s plans for original programming, but far too often those stories failed to mention the impending debut of the company’s most absurd and peculiar series to date: BoJack Horseman. Starring Will Arnett, the show follows a horse and former sitcom star who is now washed up and dealing with the downside of fame. Okay, maybe he’s dealing with the downside of mild fame, but still – the struggle appears very real. In addition to this, BoJack is also drinking a lot so that he may escape the troubles of the world, as well as trying to deal with his human friend Todd (Aaron Paul), feline agent and Princess Caroline (Amy Sedaris), and his human girlfriend (Alison Brie). You can view the first trailer for the show below.

BoJack premieres August 22. It is not the first attempt by Netflix to venture into the realm of animation, but it is the first animated series to debut on the platform that is being marketing almost exclusively to adults. The show comes from Michael Eisner’s Tornante Co., and was created by Raphael Bob-Waksberg. It is executively produced by Bob-Waksberg, Steven A. Cohen, Noel Bright, Will Arnett, and Aaron Paul.

Official synopsis:

Meet the most beloved sitcom horse of the ’90s … 20 years later. BoJack Horseman was the star of the hit TV show “Horsin’ Around,” but today he’s washed up, living in Hollywood, complaining about everything, and sometimes wearing colorful sweaters.
